Finding vegetarian-friendly restaurants in Vietnam is not impossible. Vietnamese Buddhists eat meat-free food on the 1st and 15th of each month, and during these days you can find extensive vegetarian options in restaurants and many vegetarian dishes sold in the morning markets. Many travelers come to love Vietnamese vegetarian buffets, which offer a wide array of novel dishes for just a dollar or two. These are just a few of my favorites near the Old Quarter that you must try out!
Sadhu
Sadhu is a buffet that was created with the desire to bring comfort and good luck. The restaurant wishes to share the art of vegetarian cuisine with all diners, every day through each traditional vegetarian meal, or delicate vegetarian dishes and complete nutrition on the menu every day. The healthy vegetarian dishes are served in a rustic and tranquil space. The amount of food that was served was... overwhelming, but it was incredible!
Namaste Hanoi
Located in the city center of Hanoi, Namaste Hanoi offers authentic and diverse Indian dishes. The space is cultural and cozy. They offer a wide-ranging and inclusive Indian cuisine menu ranging from curries of the north to the hot and spicy soups of the south. They strictly use the genuine Indian clay tandoor oven in order to maintain the authentic taste of our Naan bread. Trust me when I say that one meal can actually be 2-3; the portions are generous!
Hanoi Food Culture
The restaurant is located off the main street, in a charming alleyway. You can easily find it if you follow Google Maps. The staff are warm, welcoming and attentive. They have a mix of Vietnamese and Western food: amazing in taste and presentation. The atmosphere is rather romantic, including old-style music. The cocktails are notable, too!
Pizza 4Ps
Okay, it's not traditional Vietnamese, but it's still worth a visit. With their mission to deliver wow and share happiness, Pizza 4Ps provides a stellar dining experience as well as incredible food. The founder, Masuko, built a wood-fired pizza oven with his friends in the backyard of his house. He invited his friends and family and hosted pizza parties. When they first opened, local fresh mozzarella cheese did not exist in Vietnam - so they make their own. Make sure you get a reservation because this place is packed all the time.
Quan An Ngon
The space is huge and lively with a large outside area. First-time diners will be charmed by a space with poetic ancient architecture with the main deep colors. They serve food from various regions of Vietnam, and they do so in many separate kitchens, so the food comes out fast! There is nothing more ideal than enjoying hundreds of delicious dishes from three regions full of colorful flavors in such a space.
